About Us
A Quiet Spot for Retirement Questions
Silvergrove grew from a simple observation: many people approaching retirement have the same questions, the same scattered paperwork, and very few places to turn without being sold something.

Where Silvergrove Came From
Silvergrove was established in Phuket in 2018 by a small group of people who had each spent years helping individuals manage life transitions. They noticed a gap: no shortage of advisers willing to sell you a plan, but almost nobody willing to sit down and explain how things work in plain terms — or help you find the documents you'd need before anything else could happen.
The name reflects that intention. A grove is somewhere you go to think, not to be rushed. Silver because the people we serve have usually worked hard for decades and deserve to approach the next chapter with clarity rather than anxiety.
We don't hold financial advisory licences, and we're clear about that from the first conversation. What we offer is general information, practical document organisation, and an unhurried space to ask questions without any pressure to decide anything on the day.
Our Mission
To make the information side of retirement planning accessible to everyone — without jargon, without sales pressure, and without needing to know the right questions to ask first.
Our Approach
We take the pace from the person, not the clock. Sessions run until the questions run out. Document visits happen when it's convenient. We don't push follow-up services at the end of every conversation.
Our Values
Honesty about what we do and don't do. Respect for people's time and intelligence. Consistency — the same calm, clear approach every single time.
The People
Who You'll Meet
Margaret Reid
Founder & Lead Facilitator
Margaret ran community education programmes in the UK for fifteen years before moving to Phuket. She leads all information sessions and wrote the original plain-language materials the sessions are based on.
David Sutton
Document Organisation Specialist
David spent a decade as an administrative coordinator for an international charity before joining Silvergrove. He leads all document gathering and seasonal records work, and has a talent for making complex filing feel straightforward.
Nattaya Khamchai
Client Liaison & Office Manager
Nattaya is the first person most clients speak with. She handles bookings, follows up on enquiries, and bridges English and Thai when documents need contextual explanation.
How We Work
Our Working Standards
A set of consistent practices that we apply to every session, visit, and client interaction — not because we have to, but because they reflect how we believe this work should be done.
Privacy by Default
Personal documents and information shared during visits remain confidential. We don't share client details with any third party without explicit written permission.
Clear Scope
We are straightforward from the outset about what Silvergrove does and what falls outside our remit. No grey areas, no implied expertise we don't hold.
Document Security
We don't retain copies of your personal documents after a visit. Anything reviewed during a session stays in your possession.
No Sales Pressure
Our sessions and visits end with your questions answered — not with a pitch. We don't earn referral fees or commissions from any third-party providers.
Plain Language Standard
All written materials are reviewed to remove jargon before use. If a technical term is unavoidable, we explain it in the same sentence.
Regular Content Review
Information session materials are reviewed twice a year to ensure they reflect current general knowledge about retirement provisions and are not presenting outdated guidance.
Retirement Information Support in Phuket
Silvergrove operates from Phuket's Talat Nuea neighbourhood, serving English-speaking residents and long-stay visitors across the island. Our focus is on three non-regulated areas: general information about how retirement provisions work, personal document organisation, and recurring administrative support to keep records current.
People come to us at different stages. Some are years away from retirement and want to build a clearer picture of what preparation looks like. Others are already retired and dealing with the accumulation of years' worth of paperwork that has never been properly sorted. A smaller group has specific upcoming needs — a visa renewal, a pension review meeting — and wants to arrive prepared.
Whatever the starting point, the process is the same: a short initial conversation to understand what's needed, then a service tailored to that. No fixed package that forces you to take things you don't want.

Come and See What We Do
The best way to understand whether Silvergrove is the right fit is to have a short, relaxed conversation. No forms, no commitments — just a chance to ask what you'd like to know.
